Cosima's
new album now in store!
CDV
Records are proud to announce the arrival of Cosima De Vito's stunning
debut album COSIMA.
The
release follows the chart-busting success of Cosima's debut single,
When The War Is Over / One Night Without You , which made chart
history when it became the first independent single to debut at
Number One on the Australian charts and last week achieved platinum
sales.
At
Diane Warren's Realsongs Studios on LA's Sunset Boulevard, Diane
teamed Cosima with two of her top producers - Khris Kellow (Christina
Aguilera's debut album) and Peter Stengaard (N'Sync singer JC Chasez's
single, Some Girls Dance With Women ).
Together,
these eminent producers have created a masterpiece, overflowing
with future hits.
COSIMA
opens with
the Latin-inspired single, One Night Without You which is followed
by Cost Of Love on which Cosima rocks, giving full vent to her exceptional
vocal prowess.
Those
spine-chilling vocals soar again on the slow-building rock ballad
Show Me The Way Back To Your Heart, there's a plaintive longing
in What Kind Of World and Painted On My Heart revisits the theme
of lost love, and not being able to let go.
A perfect
showcase for Cosima's remarkable vocal range is the belting ballad
Now That You Can't Have Me , the album's second single.
Cosima
cruises a smooth groove on the haunting Too Lost In You and lets
her voice rip again on What My Heart Says .
I
Just Wanna Cry is
the perfect lead in to the album's closing track Taste The Tears
.
Cosima
follows legendary performers Patti Labelle and Johnny Mathis with
the third album in history to be made up of exclusively of songs
written by Diane Warren, the most successful female songwriter of
the 21 st Century.
"I'm
hoping that people will love the album," says Cosima. "I've
chosen all of these amazing Diane Warren songs because I love them
and each one of them means something to me."
Catch
Cosima tonight on A Current Affair with Ian Dickson and Michael
Gudinski.
Cosima
will be in Perth from Oct 25 to promote her first album

Locumotion
is an innovative medical service company based at the University
College Dublin (UCD) campus in Ireland. Its business is to provide
a quality global Hospital and General Practice locum service. The
company also aims to provide continuing medical education opportunities
for doctors in association with the Medical School at UCD.
In keeping with that aim, Locumotion MD,
Dr. Ray Power, assembled a group of 40 GPs, Clinical Practice Nurses,
Practice Managers and others to undertake a 16-day study tour in

In between seminars, lectures form medical professionals and other
professionally related activities, the group caught the odd glimpse
of the Irish Rugby team in its quest for the World Cup title and
the Irish Compromise Rules team as they took on the cream of the
AFL. The occasional round of golf and a visit to the Melbourne Cup
was also be squeezed in!

Barrack
Street Bell Tower
Gannon Media Services devised and co-ordinated a successful media
campaign for the newly formed Perth Bell Tower Community Support
Group on Sunday, Jan 10, 1999.
A media conference held at the site of the proposed bell tower was
attended by all TV stations and ABC Radio. Group Chairman, TCA President
(WA) Mr. Laurie O'Meara gave interviews to several other stations
throughout the day. The West Australian also covered the issue.
The Group was established to inform the WA community on the significant
economic benefits that are to be gained from the proposed tower.
The WA Tourism Commission has surveyed tour operators and have projected
daily visitor numbers at between 2,000 and 4,000.
West
Kimberly Tidal Power Station
Gannon
Media Services have been retained by the community of Derby in the
West Kimberley to provide PR services in the region's fight to have
a proposed tidal power station considered by the WA Energy Minister
for the next stage of the Electricity Procurement programme.
The innovative proposal by Tidal Energy Australia would see Australia's
first tidal power station established at Doctor's Creek near the
town of Derby (population 5,000) It would generate 48MW of electricity
making it the second largest tidal power station in the World.
The proposal also provides for a 500km-transmission system serving
the towns of Broome, Fitzroy Crossing and a number of remote Aboriginal
communities.
Western
Australian Energy Minister, Mr. Colin Barnett, did not include the
tidal power scheme in the short list for further consideration preferring
two bidders who propose to burn fossil fuels in three separate stations
in Broome, Derby and Fitzroy Crossing.
Neither
of the two preferred bidders proposes a transmission system leaving
over 16 Aboriginal communities without the benefit of a continuous
power supply system.
Community
Support
The overwhelming majority of residents in the West Kimberley are
in favour of the tidal power option because it is clean and renewable.
It also has the capacity to generate significant employment in spin-off
industries.
